Pastor Michaile Broadnax
Pastor Michaile has been at Portage ECC since June 2011. She served first as Pastor of Prayer Ministry and then accepted the call to be its Interim Co-Pastor in July 2012. In April of 2013, she then accepted the call to be its Senior Pastor.
Pastor Michaile has served in the mental health field as a professional counselor having held positions in Florida and Germany in community counseling agencies. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude in Psychology from Indiana State University. She also has served the Christian community in such roles as Christian Education director, bible teacher, counselor, and prayer and healing ministry. She currently is completing her Master of Arts in Theological Studies degree at North Park Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois. As part of her seminary degree work, she also served as a Chaplain Intern at Ingalls Hospice in Harvey, Illinois from 2009-2010. In addition, she served as Associate Pastor Intern at Marquette Park United Methodist Church in Gary, Indiana from 2010-2011. She is currently a licensed pastor in the Evangelical Covenant Church, Chicago, IL, the denomination of the Portage church.
Pastor Michaile has been married to her husband, Anthony for 23 years. They have two children, a married son Garrett, 22 and their daughter Jade, 18. They live in Hammond, Indiana. Pastor Michaile enjoys interior design, shopping for antiques, and reading.
